Local 79 members are busy putting the finishing touches on colourful puppets and floats representing all their services, for the upcoming Labour Day Parade.
A good cross-section of our workforce, including many of our younger members and representatives from all sectors of our vibrantly diverse workforce, are working hard to prepare our parade contingent, says CUPE Local 79 president Ann Dembinski, representing 16,000 inside workers at the City of Toronto.
Under the banner We Deliver Toronto, our members will be marching proud to show Toronto residents how much our labour contributes to their quality of life.
