VICTORIA — Library workers in Greater Victoria ratified a four-year contract agreement with the Greater Victoria Labour Relations Association last night.

“It’s great to reach a settlement and we are looking forward to have our libraries re-open,” said Ed Seedhouse, president of CUPE 410. “We really appreciate the public’s support over the last three months.”

Details of the agreement are not being released pending ratification by the Greater Victoria Library Board, which is expected on Wednesday, April 3, 2008.

CUPE 410 represents 210 library workers in nine branches throughout the Greater Victoria area.  The library workers had been without a collective agreement for 454 days and had been locked out since February 17.
