Sault Ste. Marie, Ont – CAS workers of Algoma, CUPE 1880, have ratified the tentative agreement reached last weekend.
“We’re pleased with the outcome of the vote,” said Lee-Ann Pettenuzzo, vice president of the local. “Following a very difficult round of bargaining we will go forward with better conditions for our members, and, we hope, a better working relationship with the employer.
“We were spared being locked out or having to strike for the agreement we reached, and that’s a very good thing for the children and families we serve.”
