VANCOUVER - Join CUPE picketers dressed in formal attire at a performance outside the Orpheum Saturday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Picketline-renown CUPE 15 diva Karen Hynes will perform pieces composed by the artist and her ensemble from their newly-released CD titled “Ode to end the strike”. Only 20 copies of the limited edition CD will be available for purchase by donation. Vancouver Symphony concertgoers are being encouraged to respect CUPE15’s picket line and enjoy the performance on the line.

Date: Saturday, September 29, 2007
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: On picket line outside the Orpheum

Ms. Hynes, who when not on strike works as an Inspections Division clerk for the City of Vancouver, will be performing pieces composed during the civic strike of 2007, such as:

The Picketers
Back on the Picket line
I hope I still have my city job
Larry did it, why can’t you?

These popular songs have inspired and kept up civic worker morale during the two-and-a-half month strike.

Ms. Hynes will be available for autographs after the performance.
