Who: CUPE Local 1418 and CUPE National President Judy Darcy

What: March and Rally of Local 1418 membership from across NB.

Where: March departs from the steps of the Legislature to Capital Exhibit Centre (Smythe Street)

When: Saturday, September 28.
March to leave at 12:30 p.m.
Rally and speeches to begin at approximately 1:45 p.m.

Why: The members of CUPE 1418 have been on strike since September 4. They stand united, despite many attempts by the provincial government to divide, conquer and demoralize them. They are coming together as a show of strength and to reinforce the message that they will stay united until a fair contract is negotiated. The outstanding issues include wages and concrete measures to address recruitment and retention.
