FREDERICTON, NB  – CUPE local 1190 – General labour and Trades, Part 1 has officially signed, this week, a new 5-year Collective Agreement with the Provincial Government.

The Collective Agreement, ratified by the membership late this summer, includes wage increases totalling 15% for the length of the contract, which is retroactive to December 2003.

The members have been very supportive during this long process. We are satisfied with the agreement, which maintains the job security clause for our members”, explained Andy Hardy, President of CUPE Local 1190.

CUPE Local 1190 represents more than 1,700 members in many departments. Most of the membership work for the department of Transportation but CUPE Local 1190 also represents workers in Tourism, Natural Resources, Supply and Services, and Community Colleges.
