CREEMORE, Ont.

— Nursing, dietary and housekeeping staff at Creedan Valley Nursing Home (Leisureworld) have ratified a new collective agreement that gives them wage increases and improvements to hours of work.

I am pleased that we have been able to negotiate a contract with no concessions,” said Donna Hill, president of CUPE 3114, which represents 76 workers at the home. “In fact, we have been able to win wage increases, including bringing our registered nurses up to the master rate for nursing homes.”

The collective agreement, which is retroactive to January 1, 2005, provides a total wage increase of 7.25% over three years for most staff.
