(Toronto) Contract talks between the U of T Bookstore and striking part-time workers are set to resume this Thursday, June 29.

The 80 bookstore employees went on strike June 7 for a first contract and fair wages. The members of CUPE Local 3261 work as cashiers and sales staff at the U of T Bookstore.

While the U of T Bookstore is a separate corporation (U of T Press), its entire Board of Directors is appointed by the university.

(PHOTO/ASSIGNMENT EDITORS: This weeks rally will be held tomorrow, Wednesday June 28 at 12:00 noon in front of the Koffler Centre, College St. and St. George. Strikers will hear from Canadian author and newspaper columnist Rick Salutin.)
