ST. JOHN’S, NF– Conciliation talks between CUPE and Mile One Stadium have broken off.

CUPE National Representative Ed White said, “The stumbling block is a Job Evaluation plan that both sides have been attempting to agree on over the last two rounds of bargaining. We believe the union has tried to be as reasonable as possible, but this employer has been far too rigid on this issue.”

White stated that both parties have already agreed to wage increases.

The 46 employees are members of CUPE Local 569-01, who are box office staff, conversion crews, engineers, maintenance workers, and office staff.

The union will be scheduling a meeting for its membership for the middle of next week, with the time and date to be announced.
