(Truro) – Conciliation talks between CUPE and the Chignecto Central Regional School Board will resume on Monday, November 4.
CUPE National Representative Betty Jean Sutherland says, “The Department of Labour continues to try and help us resolve the main outstanding issue in these contract talks which is contracting out and how it affects job security for members of Local 3890.
“All of the monetary issues have been settled as a result of provincial bargaining,” explains Sutherland.
The union represents more than 400 bus drivers, custodians and tradespeople with the Chignecto Board. It has already received a strike mandate from its membership.
