Members of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 3902 - Unit 1, representing over 4,000 contract education workers at the University of Toronto (U of T), have set a strike deadline of February 24.

On February 16, students, workers, faculty, and community members will rally outside U of T’s Governing Council to support the efforts of CUPE 3902 to improve the quality of education at U of T.

CUPE 3902 is bargaining for smaller tutorial sizes, guaranteed funding for upper-year PhD students, and increased support for graduate-student research. After eight months of negotiations, the U of T administration has not adequately addressed any of these concerns.
