Camosun College non-teaching employees staged a one-day picket October 16 in an effort to convince their employer to get back to some meaningful negotiations.

“It’s time to turn up the heat a bit,” said Local 2081 president Ed Nicolas. “Our members feel that the Camosun administrators must stop acting like a puppet of the Public Sector Emqloyers Association.”

The 400 non-teaching employees staged a half-day walkout in August and have since observed a strict overtime ban. But they are getting increasingly frustrated by the lack of will on the part of management to reach an agreement.
