Montra006c, Thursday, November 16, 2000 Last Tuesday, the Community Health Centre (CLSC) Saint-Michel did what a number of other Montra006c-area CLSCs have already done and closed down its home-care support services until it gets more funding for them. This means that the population in the Saint-Michel district, and in particular the elderly, will no longer have access to personal hygiene care (baths, etc.), people to accompany them, meal preparation, etc. The board of directors made the decision in response to a deficit of $70,000 in October.

Only people who can afford to pay between $9 and $11 an hour will be able to use agencies. People who cant pay these prices will be left to fend for themselves.
