International climate change negotiations are once again underway, this time in Durban, South Africa. The 17th Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will run until December 9.

Climate change impacts are being felt now across Canada and the world. All countries need to cut greenhouse gas emissions to slow and eventually stop climate change. But under the Harper Conservatives, this has not been happening. Harper continues to favour fossil fuels over a greener and more sustainable society and economy that would be more fair, equitable and climate-stable.
