Striking Vancouver City and Park Board Workers, members of CUPE Local 15, will obey an order from the B.C. Labour Relations Board to not picket the stage entrance at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
The order will mean that performances at the Q. E. Theatre can continue.
We have been very clear from the onset of this dispute that we will abide by the Labour Boards decisions on all issues relating to essential services and third party interests, says CUPE Local 15 President Rick Gates.
We will continue to picket the main audience entrances to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre to ensure that members of the public are aware of the reasons for this dispute, and we hope that members of the public show their support by choosing to stay away from Vancouvers Civic Theatres until this dispute is settled.
