OTTAWA – CUPE’s 50-foot mobile classroom on public private partnerships (P3s) roll into Ottawa today, November 3rd.

The mobile classroom will be welcomed by CUPE National President Paul Moist and Canadian Labour Congress Vice-President Marie Clarke-Walker with a news conference outside Ottawa City Hall at 10:00 a.m.

Organized by CUPE Ontario, the mobile classroom was launched last month to raise awareness about the negative impacts of P3s. The Ottawa stop will highlight the significant number of P3 projects underway in the nation’s capital.

The School of the 3Ps” — a takeoff on the 3Rs — displays information about the various forms of privatization, and demonstrates that P3s create profits for large corporations at public expense.
