REGINA, SK. - The city has requested the unions representing striking civic workers return to the bargaining table on Friday, September 16.

In a letter faxed to the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) office Wednesday afternoon, the city invited the civic unions back to the table “to resume collective bargaining that would result in our employees returning to their positions and providing services to the citizens of Regina.”

Union negotiator Malcolm Matheson welcomed the invitation to return to the table, stating it’s “great news and a very positive development.”
