WINDSOR, Ont. – CUPE Ontario president Sid Ryan and Windsor councillor Ron Jones will honour child care workers from Glengarry Child Care Centre, members of Local 543 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26th, at 10:30 am. October 26th marks the fifth annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day in Ontario.
“We are here to present child care workers with a specially designed gift as a token of our appreciation for their hard work and dedication,” said Sid Ryan, president of CUPE Ontario. The gift from CUPE is a ‘circle bag’ with a specially designed logo that symbolizes the care provided by child care workers. The ‘circle bag’ is a work tool to help early childhood educators organize their learning materials and toys during the children’s daily circle activities.
