NORTH BAY Health care and support workers, represented by Local 146 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), will hold an information picket in front of North Bay City Hall, today, Monday, August 9th, at 5:30 p.m., to protest attempts by their employer, Cassellholme Long Term Care Facility, to reduce their benefits and gut their collective agreement. Several municipal councillors sit on the Board of Directors of Cassellholme.

The employer told us they have a mandate from the Board to seek concessions in bargaining, says Jo-Ann Breton, CUPE National Representative. Our members are prepared to fight concessions all the way and City Hall must be held accountable.
