Workers at Casino Calgary have voted to join CUPE.
Respect, wages and working conditions top the list of concerns among the 315 dealers, slot attendants, security staff, bar and kitchen staff, cashiers and custodians.
This is the first casino in Alberta to be organized, said regional director Dianne Wyntjes and we think its a positive step in bringing dignity and respect to these employees.
Casino Calgary is owned by ABS Casino, which also operates two casinos in Edmonton and one in Lethbridge.
