Stratford, Ont. - Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society workers will hold an information picket at 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, October 17, at Army Navy and Air Force Hall, 151 Lorne Avenue East, Stratford, to raise awareness of a pending strike over deteriorating working conditions and management’s concession demands in contract talks, including the refusal to pay vacation leave for workers returning from maternity leave.

“We are here to let the foster parents know the struggles we are facing, not just at the bargaining table but on a daily basis,” said Laurel LeBeau, president of CUPE 1427. “We are seeking their help to stop a strike that will hurt the children and families that we serve in our communities.
