Flight attendants at CanJet Airlines have ratified a new collective agreement. Ratification votes were held across the country, ending late last week. Eighty-five per cent of votes cast were in favour of the new agreement. The 420 CanJet flight attendants are represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), local 4044.

We are satisfied with the outcome and pleased to continue our work representing the membership at CanJet,” said Shona Burnside, president of CUPE 4044.

The union fought hard in negotiations to obtain some gains including a pay-hike of 12.75 per cent over four years including one year retroactive, defined rest time and better pairing conditions.

CanJet operates out of Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and seasonally in Winnipeg.
