The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) has endorsed a national consumer boycott of the following Labatt imported products:
- Stella Artois
- Staropramen
- Stella Artois Light
- Bodingtons
- Beck’s
- Bass
- Brahma
- Löwenbräu
- Hoegaarden
- Ozujsko Pivo
- Leffe
The boycott is in support of National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) members on strike at the Labatt’s plant in Newfoundland & Labrador. They have been on strike for over three and a half months fighting back against employer demands for concessions to their collective agreement.
The boycott outside of Newfoundland & Labrador only targets Labatt’s imported products (as listed above) in order to prevent the brewing company’s other Canadian unionized workers from experiencing any loss of work.
CUPE is asking for all members to join the boycott, and show their support and solidarity with our NUPGE brothers and sisters.
