Rather than providing support for workers to do their jobs, the Board of Directors has hired more managers, contracted services out to for-profit companies, and undermined the collective bargaining process. Residents and workers are feeling the pinch. In 2024, workers sounded the alarm after a shortage in supplies caused them to resort to using pillow cases and paper towels to wash residents. Now, two years later, supply shortages, understaffing, and more outsourcing are continuing the pattern of neglect.
Response Care and Compass have been contracted out to manage the facility. These for-profit companies are treating this non-profit home like a business. Cutting staff hours, cutting corners, all to save money and pay management salaries. Worse, workers are threatened when they dare to speak up. Enough is Enough.
The residents and workers at Villa Marconi deserve better. Tell Villa Marconi to end the intimidation tactics, get back to the table and negotiate in good faith with the union so we can fix staffing, fix supply issues, and get the residents the care they need.
