BOWDEN – Employees of the Town of Bowden have voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

The seven employees from the operations, facilities and bylaw department voted by a two thirds margin to join Canada’s largest union.

CUPE Alberta President Marle Roberts said the employees are seeking a respectful, co-operative relationship with their employer.

In CUPE, we believe no group of employees is too small to join a union,” said Roberts. “These employees are small in number on their own, but join over 600,000 fellow members who now have their backs.”
