New Brunswick employees of the Red Cross (CUPE locals 2069,1655 and 3728) are launching a campaign to ensure successor rights under the new federal blood agency. “We need to make sure that the workers who do blood collection are protected and also that high level services in our province are maintained,” says local 2069 president Ruth Whelpley.

The members will be seeking support from physicians, the health community and blood donors, under the theme: “The name may change, but the gift goes on.” The locals are planning their own Christmas blood donor clinic, with tree ornaments as gifts for donors.
