Montreal, October 30, 2000 - Later this afternoon, as Bill 124 is being pushed through and recommendations submitted concerning the formation of metropolitan communities, municipal sector militants, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, will be initiating “Black Mondays” by paying a visit to one of the people responsible for thwarting union rights in the municipal sector,

At 5:30 p.m., union members will gather at five rallying points in the Greater Montreal Area, with the largest group assembling in the parking lot at the Claude-Robillard Complex. They will set off from these rallying points bearing a clear message, namely their refusal to have their right to free bargaining made a mockery. The destination will be announced at the rallying point and journalists will be welcome to accompany the demonstrators on their buses.
