(St. John’s) – The Canadian Union of Public Employees is spearheading a national campaign to raise awareness about the state of residential, long-term care across Canada.
They’ll be stopping in St. John’s on Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 pm at the Ramada Hotel on Kenmount Road.

The featured speaker is Toby Edelman, a leading expert on long term care.  The forum  is open to the public and participants will also hear more about CUPE’s vision for better seniors’ care.

Ms. Edelman has been representing older people in long-term care facilities in the U.S. since 1977. As a Senior Policy Attorney with the Center for Medicare Advocacy, she provides training, research, policy analysis, consultation and litigation support relating to nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
