Seniors’ and medicare advocates are advising long-term care residents and their families to take the provincial government at its word and reject plans that involve moves to an inappropriate or temporary care setting.

The Seniors’ Network BC and the BC Health Coalition are also calling for a moratorium on the closure of long-term care facilities.

Fragile and elderly residents can’t be moved around the system like luggage while the government tries to convince us that it has a workable plan,” says Joyce Jones of the seniors’ coalition.
