British Columbians are saying no to the privatization of municipal and school board services, says a new Ipsos-Reid poll commissioned by CUPE BC. Fifty-seven per cent of BC households say they do not want public services taken over by private firms. This is an increase of 10 per cent over a poll conducted two years ago.

The poll shows the growing support for CUPE and community members who are fighting hard to defend public services across the province. In an early warning of yet another privatization attack, there are reports the BC government may privatize school bus operations in the spring.
