Two CUPE members in British Columbia are taking political action into their own hands. Jamie Arden, a zamboni driver in Port Coquitlam and a longtime activist with CUPE 498 is running as the NDP candidate in the riding of Port Moody-Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam.

Meanwhile, high-profile Liberal MP Raymond Chan is being challenged in the riding of Richmond by long-time activist Gail Paquette. A member of the Hospital Employees Union, CUPEs health services division in BC, Gail is sure to give Chan a run for his money.
