February 2, Victoria, BCThe first two days of bargaining have ended on an optimistic note for BC Ambulance Paramedics (CUPE Local 873) and their employer, the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS).

John Strohmaier, President of CUPE Local 873 says, We have reached mutual agreement on work allocation and seniority issues and will now focus on dealing with some more complex issues.

Strohmaier says, The major outstanding issues are wages and hours of work. In addition serious concerns surrounding the licensing of paramedics must be resolved once and for all.
