Emergency service paramedics and municipal social services workers in the Algoma district in northern Ontario have voted to join CUPE in a representation vote held May 15.

Were very pleased these workers will be joining the CUPE family, says CUPE representative Andr 004camoureux. CUPE is a leader in fighting for public sector workers rights and these workers have joined an organization that will stand up for quality public services.

Voter turnout was strong in Tuesdays vote and CUPE won 75 votes, compared with only 13 votes for the CAW and 0 votes for SEIU, the two other unions on the ballot.
