Toronto – Flight attendants at Air Transat have overwhelmingly voted down a tentative contract offer by the company. The tentative agreement was reached with the aid of a federal conciliation officer. The 1100 flight attendants are represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

The union will be meeting in the days to come to establish a strike deadline. Under the Canada Labour Code a minimum of 72 hours must be given before a legal strike or lockout may commence.
