Canadas nursing stakeholders, including the Canadian Union of Public Employees, today released a report that calls upon all levels of government to implement 10 recommendations to address the shortage of nurses in Canada. The study, funded by the Government of Canadas Sector Council Program, is the most comprehensive study of nursing human resources ever undertaken in Canada. The recommendations include mechanisms to address workload issues, a pan-Canadian approach to address nursing education and enhanced data collection to create an adequate supply of nurses.
