This World Water Day, send a message to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and your Member of Parliament in support of the right to water.

Once you’ve sent your messages, make sure to send everyone in your address book a link to www.actforwater.ca. There’s a tool on the site to help you spread the word.

Across Canada and around the world, people are taking action to mark World Water Day, March 22. You can join the movement for water justice by adding your voice.

Canada must reverse its opposition to the right to water and join the growing number of countries formally recognizing that access to safe, clean drinking water is a fundamental right.

Around the world, one in five people do not have access to safe drinking water.  Here in Canada, our water resources face multiple threats including contamination, scarcity, crumbling infrastructure, privatization and growing calls to treat water as a tradable commodity.

Take action today and make a difference for water in Canada and around the world by calling on the government of Canada to support the right to water. This online action is part of joint World Water Day activities organized by CUPE with the Council of Canadians, and Kairos.
