Thats some mighty fine fine print.

A provincial P3 agency report revealed this week that just writing up the contracts for Abbotsfords P3 hospital will cost $24.5 million in lawyers and consultants.

And despite what must be books and books of legal boilerplate language, Hospital Employees Union officials say the financial risk to the public is very high.

Patients will be depending on the private consortium to deliver critical health support services such as hospital cleaning for three decades, HEU official Margi Blamey said.

Blamey added that Sodexho, one of the corporations involved in the Abbotsford deal, has a poor track record as the cleaning company for the Fraser Health Authority.

The contract was signed December 7, 2004, but not made public until this week.
