(Halifax) The 5th annual, Halifax Labour Day March & Picnic is set for September 6th on the Halifax Commons.

The event is open to all working families, and features live music by The Meteors and kids entertainment by Milo the Clown, free food and beverages, as well as games and treats for the kids.

The march gets underway at 11:00 a.m. at the South Commons Triangle, with the picnic immediately following.

Special guest speaker this year is Ken Georgetti, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, which speaks for three million working women and men across the country.

The Halifax Labour Day organizers are encouraging people to bring a donation for the Metro Food Bank.
