Marie-Josée Alvarez has been a member of CUPE since 1992.
She worked as a special education technician with the Commission scolaire de la Capitale [Quebec City School Board] for 15 years.
She has been president of CUPE 1296 since 2006.
Elected as Vice-President of the Education Sector at the Quebec Convention in May 2015, she was named Regional Vice-President for Quebec in July 2016.
