CUPE 87, representing municipal workers in Thunder Bay, Ontario, launched an anti-privatization campaign at the Folkore Festival in Thunder Bay this May Day weekend. With support from CUPE national, the local is mounting a public awareness campaign highlighting the services our members provide to the public, and the need to hold municipal governments accountable. With the slogan “Proudly serving our communities”, the local will encourage residents to join them in lobbying municipal councillors to fight privatization and contracting out of municipal services.
