CUPE Ontario represents over 249,000 members. There are over 700 CUPE locals in the province.
The union has led major campaigns to fight privatization, forced mergers, cutbacks, and restructuring. CUPE Ontario’s key sectors include health care, municipalities, universities, social services and school boards. CUPE Ontario’s elected leaders, executive board, staff and activists also provide leadership on a range of social justice issues including human rights, diversity and education as well as key matters such as pensions and health and safety.
