CUPE is voicing strong opposition to Bill C-51, the Anti-Terrorism Act, and its threats to the civil liberties and democratic freedoms of all people living in Canada.
Bill C-51 is a profound threat to all our freedoms, particularly to those who oppose the federal Conservative government, such as trade union activists and our allies in civil society.
We need to inform our members and all Canadians on the threats Bill C-51 poses to our freedoms of speech, assembly, human rights and democracy in Canada. We also need to stand up to the federal Conservative government and tell them this attack on our democratic values is unacceptable.
