We care about the work that we do in our community, but unfortunately our wages have fallen behind those in neighbouring public health units, while inflation and the rising cost of living have also made it harder for us to make ends meet.

We have been in bargaining negotiations with our employer since April and have been unable to reach an agreement. Recently, we have voted in favour of strike action, meaning that if a deal is not reached with the employer soon, public health services that many residents depend on could be disrupted.

Help us avoid a strike!

Take a moment and send a letter in support of public health, and public health workers at the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.

Tell the board of public health and your local councilor that public health matters, and so do public health workers.
