The Syndicat des professionnelles et professionnels de Laval-Rive-Nord (SPPLRN-CUPE 5222) is celebrating Educational Professionals’ Week, which runs from November 21 to 25.  The theme this year is “Pour que l’élève prenne son envol, du personnel professionnel, c’est essential” (Education professionals are essential to student success).

The Syndicat des professionnelles et professionnels de Laval-Rive-Nord (SPPLRN-CUPE 5222) represents employees of the des Affluents, Laval and Mille-Îles school service centres, some 990 people in 33 different job categories serving 137,000 students in 237 educational institutions that contribute on an ongoing basis to the success of students.

“Educational Professionals’ Week highlights all of the essential work they do with students to help them succeed and stay in school. In addition, these professionals make an exceptional contribution by giving them the tools they need to confront the many day-to-day challenges that lie before them,” said Julie Tassé, president of the SPPLRN.

“Education professionals are an important link in the education sector.  The work they do in school service centres is essential to students finding their niche and taking flight, which is what we are celebrating this week,” added Richard Delisle, vice-president of the CUPE Quebec Education Sector.
