Atria Retirement Canada is a highly profitable company, but they are failing to provide a living wage for the staff that make their facilities run.
According to the Ontario Living Wage Network, workers need to earn $22.20 per hour in Peterborough. On the same day this number was announced, Atria sent threatening and misleading letters to workers at Sherbrooke Heights trying to pressure them into accepting a wage offer that wouldn’t see most positions reach this hourly wage by 2027.
