A new collective agreement has been signed for 535 croupiers at the Casino de Montréal, members of CUPE. The six-year agreement officially signed this Monday afternoon runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2032. The agreement had previously been ratified at a general union meeting held on July 2, with 94.5% of members voting in favour.

Oxfam Canada workers staged a public outreach event at Sparks Street and Elgin Street on Wednesday, July 8 as part of their strike campaign aimed at pressuring the employer to return to the bargaining table.

Two weeks into the strike at Oxfam Canada, CUPE 2722 is calling out the hypocrisy of Oxfam Canada’s Board of Directors and Executive Director Lauren Ravon, who continue to wrap themselves in the language of feminism, equity and justice while workers at their own organization are forced to strike for compassionate and inclusive workplace protections.

One week after walking off the job, members of CUPE 2722 are renewing their call for Oxfam Canada to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair collective agreement that reflects the organization’s stated values of equity, dignity, and social justice.

In the CUPE regional director’s annual report to convention, Martina Boyd highlighted the challenges and gains made in the region over the past year. While bargaining has been tough, Boyd says B.C. locals have held fast at the table.
