Recent revelations in Brampton poke a hole in the privateers loud claims that P3 hospitals are delivered on time and on budget. In mid-July, officials at the William Osler Health Centre announced that the planned new P3 hospital wont be open until 2006. The original opening was scheduled for 2005. Hospital officials are saying its the definition of complete thats changed saying construction will be finished in 2005, but itll take six to eight months for the facility to be ready to accept patients.

The news appeared to irritate Bramptons mayor, who made a sarcastic comment about the need to change 2005 to 2006 on publicity materials. And another Brampton councillor is asking how much the project is going to cost taxpayers. Hospital officials have referred her to the provincial health ministry.
