Indigenous, Black, and racialized CUPE members and allies are invited to a national gathering on September 23, hosted by CUPE’s national diversity vice-presidents. Register now and spread the word!

The event will be hosted by Debra Merrier, CUPE National Diversity Vice-President representing Indigenous workers and Aubrey Gonsalves, CUPE National Diversity Vice-President representing Black and racialized workers.

Putting the anti-racism strategy into action

The CUPE National Anti-Racism Strategy was adopted two years ago. We have come a long way in building an anti-racist union, but there is still much work to do.

Your Diversity Vice-Presidents are inviting you to get together, celebrate how far we have come, and organize for where we need to go.

At this online event, you will meet other Indigenous, Black, and racialized CUPE members and allies who are committed to building an anti-racist union.

This is the third national meeting to put the Anti-Racism strategy into action. A key goal of the strategy is increasing the representation of Indigenous, Black, and racialized members in our union. Creating such organizing spaces is a way forward to achieve that goal.

Register Now

By building an anti-racist union, we build a union power that benefits all workers. Tangible change will happen when members with lived experiences and allies work together.

The meeting will include English and French interpretation as well as closed captioning and ASL interpretation if requested. The deadline to register is September 16, 2023.
