OTTAWA, Ont. – On Wednesday, May 28, representatives of Ottawa’s frontline mental health workers will hold a rally and information picket in defence of the services they provide to vulnerable Ottawa residents.

As the city’s mental health workers make ever greater efforts to maintain high-quality services, they struggle with:

  • More admin that reduces time available for clients
  • Higher turnover and growing incidence of stress leaves

Workers will gather at the Ottawa headquarters of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), calling on its directors to negotiate a fair contract that addresses the issues and ensures that there will be no disruption to the mental health services for vulnerable people.
