Almost 70 Ontario doctors have opposed the provincial government’s plan to build P3 hospitals in an open letter to Premier Dalton McGuinty.

We call on the government to act in the public interest and to use citizens’ dollars responsibly,” the letter stated. “Hospital construction and services must be publicly funded and hospitals must remain fully publicly managed and serviced.”

These no-nonsense words were penned on behalf of the Ontario Health Coalition, a group that has been fighting two-tier health care in the province. Sixty-nine doctors from all over Ontario signed the letter.
